We provide various embroidery threads here.

As to thread material, polyester is the most popular one and you can try polyester first if you are an embroidery beginner. What's more, high-quality cotton thread and rayon thread can be used as embroidery thread as well.

When you face different thread counts/weight, 120D/2 is the most common use one and nearly the same as 40WT, and 75D/2 nearly equal to 60WT(50D/2=90WT). Different brands and materials will use different thread weight systems, you should tell them carefully, for example, Madeira use WT and Goats use Tex system.

We usually use 120D/2(40WT) polyester thread as embroidery thread, matching a thinner bobbin thread like 75D/2(60WT). If you choose skin-friendly cotton as bobbin thread, you can choose 40s/2 to work with 40WT poly embroidery thread.

If you do lace, small letter or delicate embroidery you can try 75D/2(60WT) as embroidery thread and 50D/2(90WT) as bobbins, at the same time recommend you change needle size 60/8 or 65/9 to fit the thinner thread.
